The sun had just started to peek over the mountain ridges that surrounded the small town of Burgess. High up in the ever-green tree tops groups of robins and sparrows had already begun their morning chorus as teenagers and adults of all ages slowly rolled out of bed, sleep-sand incrusted in the corners of their eyes. However, despite the early hour, the town’s children could already be found out in the streets, laughing and playing, talking with their friends, jumping into neatly raked piles of orange, red and brown leaves. From behind the attic window of an old brick house a pair of stormy grey eyes peered out, their owner glancing up
